RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

Effective April 2025

RESERVATION & TERM

The D Loft Brands are Michigan-based Limited Liability Corporations. To make a reservation at any of our locations, you must be at least 18 years of age.

USE OF THE VENUE
  • You, your Permitted Invitees, and vendors will have access to the venue only during your reserved time block.

  • All guests must exit the venue by the end of their rental period.

  • You and your vendors must complete all take-down and exit within one hour after your rental period.

  • Additional venue time is available at a rate of:

- $50 Decorating Time Only - $50/$100 per hour before midnight - $175 per hour after midnight
VENUE CANCELLATIONS & NO REFUND POLICY
  • If you cancel an event 6 months or more in advance, you will receive a Venue Credit equal to the amount paid.

  • Cancellations within 6 months of the event date are eligible for a Venue Credit, and based on cancellation reason.

  • No refunds are provided under any circumstances.

  • Downgrading a contracted reservation is not permitted.

  • Corporate/Non-Profit events (7 AM – 5 PM) have separate terms—request a copy of Addendum A.

Venue Credit Terms
  • Venue Credits cannot be sold or advertised. Any attempt to do so results in immediate forfeiture.

  • Venue Credits:

- Must remain with the original client but may be transferred if the recipient signs a new booking agreement. - Are valid for 1 year from the original event date. - Are only valid at the original reserved location and cannot be transferred to another venue within the D Loft Family of Companies.

Date Change Policy
  • One event date change is allowed if:

- You notify us at least 1 month in advance. - The change functions as a cancellation, with your Venue Credit applied to the new date. - If you request a second date change, a fee of $125.00 will be assessed to your account. The date change is not confirmed until payment is collected.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

All D Loft based evening based events will require a security professional to be on premise after 8pm until the end of the event. The security professional is for general client coverage. They are not responsible for guest management at door entry.* If the client requires a security professional to do door monitoring (general pat down) an additional fee of $125.00 will be applied to the clients account. All additional security professionals added to an event are $100.00 per person added.

CAMERA MONITORING/SURVEILLANCE
  • Evening events (after 9 PM) require an on-site security/attendant professional until the event ends.

  • Based on the type of event, Hamtramck Police may be notified to assist with exiting guest after the event.

  • Security personnel are for general coverage of the venue, not the client. They are not guest entry management.

  • Additional guest entry management security for door monitoring (pat-downs) requires a $175 fee per man used.

  • Each additional security professional is $145 per person.

Camera Monitoring & Surveillance
  • Security cameras monitor public areas for safety and security.

  • Security professionals may record interactions for safety, legal, or investigative purposes.

  • Hamtramck Police are able to request video footage at any time an event is held in the venue.

RIGHT OF CANCELLATION & REMOVAL
  • If security, venue staff, or ownership determine that any guest is a risk to the event or venue, they may be removed by security or law enforcement.

  • Any removal may result in forfeiture of the security deposit and possible fines.

PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

The following are strictly prohibited and may result in fees or deposit forfeiture:

  • Illegal activities or promotion of illegal behavior.

  • Smoking, vaping, or chewing tobacco outside of designated areas (including marijuana where legal).

  • Possession or use of firearms, fireworks, explosives, or weapons within the venue or near any/all access points of the venue by non-security or law enforcement.

  • Use of confetti, Silly String, or glitter, even within balloons

  • Unauthorized use of tape, tacks, or staples on walls, floors, doors, or furniture.

  • Gambling of any kind.

  • Bringing pets, except for service animals (non-service animals require a $250 damage deposit).

  • Moving or rearranging furniture without written permission may result in security deposit deductions.

  • Damage to fixtures, furniture, or venue property, internally or externally.

  • Use of candles unless they are properly contained.

  • Failure to remove trash, décor, and event materials at the conclusion of the event.

  • Police intervention or fighting results in automatic deposit forfeiture.

  • Storage of rental items without prior invoicing will result in a $50 non-rental fee.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
  • The D Loft does not provide bar services.

  • Alcohol must be provided as a complimentary item.

  • Selling alcohol on-site is strictly prohibited—violation will result in immediate event closure and forfeiture of security deposit.

PAYMENT DETAILS
  • Payment plans are available, with weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly options.

  • All balances must be paid in full at least 7 days before the event.

  • Deposits:

- Reservations under $250 must be paid in full. - Initial deposits are a minimum of 30% of the total. - Maximum payment terms: 12 months (for qualifying events).

  • Late or declined payments incur a $39 fee. If the balance is not cleared, your event may be canceled.

  • The D Loft reserves the right to charge your Open Account (credit/debit) for damages or unauthorized venue use.

NO REFUND ON DÉCOR ITEMS
  • Décor items (e.g., backdrops, tent ceiling designs, furniture) are non-refundable.

  • However, costs may be reallocated to other services.

LINEN POLICIES
  • The D Loft partners with Special Day Events for linen rentals and Decor Services. 313-819-0303\

  • Orders must be placed at least 15-30 days before the event to avoid rush fees.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This agreement represents the entire understanding between you and The D Loft and its family of companies. No modifications are valid unless in writing and signed by both parties or in written electronic acknowledgement.
